So I need to put a disclosure with this post… I interviewed Chris back in February when we first decided to try doing these diver interviews. I point this out for 2 reasons… Chris wanted to be the last one interviewed, well next week is the last week and I have a special surprise up my sleeve (hopefully) for that post. And secondly… I asked where his favorite place to dive was and he said he’d never dove salt water, which is inaccurate now… he, Cam and Anissa went to Cozumel this last summer. So keep those things in mind. And now it is time to reveal Chris Parrish’s interview.
How did you get started diving?
I wanted to noodle catfish but I wanted to do it the safe way. After I learned to scuba dive and got my certification in Beaver Lake I never went back to Grand Lake.
How long have you been diving?
2006
How many dives do you make in a typical year?
100
What other hobbies do you have?
That’s stuff that doesn’t pay…. Gringos and driving a school bus.
Where is your favorite place to dive?
Well I’ve never dove in salt water so probably Beaver Lake or Mermet Springs. (remember the aforementioned disclosure)
What is your most comical dive experience?
Watching my wife get hit in the head at Mermet with a bowling ball by Cameron.
What is your occupation?
Restaurant owner, Blingers (custom rhinestones), driving a school bus.
Words of wisdom/tips or tricks for fellow divers?
You learn so much more diving with an experienced dive partner. Dive often with someone who has experience.
