Cozumel Group Trip – February 2018

Time for a recap of our Cozumel 2 week trip. Grady and I went down to Cozumel a day early so that we could get everything ready for our group before they arrived.

After the group arrived for the first week, they did some shore dives to do weight checks and get comfortable with their equipment before heading out on the boat the next day.

The first week, we had enough divers that we took 2 boats. Doug and I were in charge of the divers on the Nuria with dive masters Jaime and Jorge. Grady and Dan were in charge of the divers on the Manatee with dive masters Juan & Mario. No, we did not always go to the same dive sites, but several times we did end up there.

My group seemed to have all of the photographers, so you may see a few more photos taken from the divers on the Nuria. We did argue all week about who had the “FUN” boat. They were both the “FUN” boat.

We seemed to see a lot of eagle rays on this trip, you may have noticed the photos and videos.

One of the highlights of this trip was that we had a SURPRISE Birthday party for Dan LaDue. I think that we
really did surprise him.

What a fun group for our first week in Cozumel.

Week 2

After the first group reluctantly went home, we were ready for our 2nd group to arrive. Notice that some people
stayed both weeks. This week we only had one boat the Manatee and we had Juan and Jaime for Dive Masters.
Another fun week of diving.

Jorge Marine (owner of Cozumel Marine World) joined for diving one day. Sometimes you just have to get out
of the office and go diving.

Logan Montgomery found out that you should never leave and not take your camera with you, lots of selfies on
it when you get back. Wonder who did that.

Last afternoon there we all went to Le Chef to eat the famous “Bacon & Lobster” sandwich. Yum YUM

Special thank you to Dan LaDue and Doug Lord for helping out with the newer divers on these trips, hopefully
they will be joining us again.
