Welcome back for this weeks Diver Interview. Hold the phone, is it Wednesday? Where has my week gone. No no no, calm down… you didn’t miss a day. Today is in fact, Tuesday October 6, 2015 (Don’t worry Dan La Due, you didn’t miss a day!). Next question that might be running through your head, then why on earth are we having a diver interview TODAY? Well, we thought we’d change it up this week… there may be something up my sleeve for tomorrow’s post… I guess you’ll have to come back and check that out! So just know that 1) today is Tuesday, 2) we’re doing diver interview today, 3) next week will be back to regularly scheduled posting, and 4) it’s time to meet John Patrick.
How did you get started diving?
By jumping in the water… no, I’ve always wanted to dive, just felt like I couldn’t afford it. One of Nelda’s friends became a dive instructor here for a short period of time. Since it was Nelda’s idea to try diving I said yes.
How long have you been diving?
11 years.
How many dives do you make in a typical year?
30
What other hobbies do you have?
Model trains, piloting (retired), Amateur radio, being Grandpa [I didn’t ever dream it would be so much fun]
Where is your favorite place to dive?
All of them. The reason is every dive site has its own unique fun.
What is your most comical dive experience?
Wearing a Speedo in public in Cozumel.
What is your occupation?
Group Vice President, I do anything from International business to Administration.
Words of wisdom/tips or tricks for fellow divers?
Check your equipment before you dive and be very safe. Be conservative.
