I try to make it a point to know who people are, especially when I’m involved with a fun group like the Extreme Sports Scuba divers. With the addition of new faces constantly to this great sport, it gives us all an opportunity to meet new people and make new friendships. At the New Year’s Day dive this year there were a couple faces I didn’t recognize, one of which was Adam Deras. As I was making my rounds of interviews for the new weekly diver interviews we’re conducting here on the blog, Adam found himself in the “hot seat.” Adam just so happens to live in Northeast Montana so we had to raz him about driving all the way here just for the New Year’s Day Dive (and Rescue certification he was working on) but he really was home for the holidays spending time with his family. So if you were unable to join us for the New Year’s Day Dive this year, please let me introduce you to Adam Deras.

I got a free ride to Cancun and thought I’ve always wanted to do it so why not.

What is your most comical dive experience?
I was diving with a buddy and I didn’t realize he went up just a few feet. I started looking for him and making hand gestures like where is he. I finally looked up and saw him. Later he asked me what I was doing.
