TRASH CLEAN UP DAY BEAVER LAKE

INFORMATION
  • Date: August 18th, 2024
  • Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Location: Indian Creek Campground on Beaver Lake in Arkansas.
  • Entry fee: FREE, however, please bring proof of SCUBA certification + you’ll sign a waiver.
  • Other details: All divers MUST have a cutting tool to cut away fishing line and must dive in pairs!

So… what exactly are we doing?

We will provide all divers with a trash clean-up bag donated by the state’s conservation. During your dive(s), try and collect as much trash as you can. If you find a tire or a heavy object, inform our staff so we can use a lift bag to remove it. Fishing line will probably be the most common piece of trash so all divers will need a cutting object (EEZY cuts work best).

At the end of the event, it would be awesome if all divers can pile up what trash they have found so we can record how much trash we have collected.

Divers are able to dive ANYWHERE in the lake! Just please send us pictures of what you have collected so we can share the difference divers are making in our local lake community.

RULES:
1. All divers must show proof of SCUBA certification and sign a waiver before participating.
2. All Divers must have a dive buddy and stay with the dive buddy during their dive. Diving in groups is okay but less likely to find more trash (in pairs of two).
3. A time limit of 1 hour per dive. Minimum cylinder pressure = 750psi
4. Absolutely NO alcohol is allowed. If suspected consumption of alcohol, a diver will be eliminated from the competition.
5. Participants are required to pose for a group photo for social media use.
6. Practice safe and courteous diving.
7. Have a great time!

This is our first year for this event so please join us!
