Scubapro Regulators

The first stage of a scuba regulator is the component that attaches directly to the tank valve. Its main job is to reduce the high-pressure air from the scuba tank (around 3000 psi) to an intermediate pressure, which is then delivered to the second stage through hoses. First stages come in piston or diaphragm designs and may be balanced (consistent airflow regardless of tank pressure) or unbalanced (airflow may decrease as tank pressure drops).

The second stage of a scuba regulator is the part that goes in the diver’s mouth and delivers breathable air on demand. It receives intermediate-pressure air from the first stage and reduces it to ambient pressure for comfortable inhalation. Most second stages are demand valves, meaning they only release air when the diver inhales. Some models are adjustable, allowing divers to fine-tune breathing effort, and may include a venturi switch to reduce free-flow at the surface.

choosing the right combo

Regulator combos, also called regulator sets or packages, combine all the essential components of a scuba regulator system into one unit. A typical combo includes the first stage and primary second stage.. These sets ensure all parts are compatible and properly configured for safe diving. Buying a combo is a convenient and cost-effective way to get a complete breathing system.
