Dive Site #1: Beaver Lake Dive Park, Beaver Lake, AR

Location: 36.43031, -93.85678

– This site is packed with hidden underwater gems, including a sailboat, a pirate ship, a Mazda RX7, a Volkswagen Beetle, a houseboat, and more. With multiple attractions and varied depths, Beaver Lake Dive Park offers something new to discover on every dive.

Dive Site #2: Jake’s Point – Tablerock Lake, MO

Location: 36.62587, -93.33869

– Known for clear water and classic Ozarks underwater terrain, Jake’s Point is a favorite local dive for training and fun dives alike. Expect submerged trees, rocky ledges, and plenty of aquatic life, with depths that make it great for both newer divers and experienced explorers.

Dive Site #3: Indian Creek Dive Park – Beaver Lake, AR

Location: 36.42126, -93.88785

– Indian Creek Dive Park features three submerged boats, a boat lift, and scattered large boulders spread across an open bottom. The site levels off around 40 to 50 feet, making it a great location for controlled depth dives, navigation practice, and relaxed exploration with plenty of room to move and plan your dive.

Dive Site #4: Dewey Short Dam Site Bluffs, Tablerock Lake, MO

Location: 36.59403, -93.31415

– This site features dramatic underwater bluffs and rocky walls along with submerged trees that add depth and character to the dive. At around 60 feet, divers will find a set of flamingo statues, making this a memorable and unique location. The varied terrain and depth changes make it a great dive for buoyancy control, wall style exploration, and underwater navigation.

Dive Site #5: Dam Site Roadside Park, Beaver Lake, AR

Location: 36.43339, -93.8505

– This more challenging dive site is located right off the main road and offers limited parking, making access part of the adventure. Underwater, divers will find a couple of submerged boats, several fish habitat structures, and a short rock ledge at around 40 feet. Following the ledge rewards divers with active marine life using the terrain for protection, making this a great site for observation focused dives and controlled navigation.

Dive Site #6: Mermet Springs Quarry, Metropolis, IL

Location: 37.2845, -88.85802

– This is a destination dive site and the furthest location on the challenge, offering a great diving experience with excellent visibility and a wide variety of underwater attractions. This site is included as a special stop on the Summer Diving Challenge, with group trips planned in June and again in September. Divers completing the challenge are welcome to join the group trips to log dives, explore the site, and check this location off their road map together.

Dive Site #7: The Bluffs, Beaver Lake, AR

Location: 36.42974, -93.85963

– The Bluffs is one of the trickier entries in the challenge, with access starting at a nearby boat ramp before making the swim to the dive area. Deep Diver certified divers will love exploring the Enchanted Forest located at 75 feet and deeper. For those staying shallower, the warm water zones feature some of the most impressive and unique rock formations found in any Ozarks lake, making this site rewarding at all depth levels.

Dive Site #8: The Dam Pavilion Point, Beaver Lake, AR

Location: 36.42756, -93.84901

– Dam Pavilion Point is a great choice for overcast days, as the area offers little natural shade. Frequently used for training dives, the site features several underwater statues to explore along with a ravine like terrain that descends to a maximum depth of around 65 feet. Large catfish have been spotted here many times, making it a fun site for divers who enjoy both structure and wildlife encounters.

  • For this challenge, we are considering a dive to be any scuba dive longer than 30 minutes and at least 20 ft of depth.

What if I’m not scuba certified?

  • You must be certified to complete this challenge, but don’t worry – there is plenty of time to get your certification this year before the challenge is over. Head over to our training page to learn more.

Do I have to complete all the dive sites?

  • If you want to complete the challenge and receive rewards (challenge coin, t-shirt, and free air fill card), you must dive each of the sites listed on the map, take a picture of yourself, the map, and the site in one picture. You will also need to have proof of a dive log on a dive computer.

What if I don’t have my own dive gear?

  • That’s okay! We offer rental gear here at our store, but so do places around these dive sites. You must have proof of a dive from a dive computer, so snap a picture of the logbook function before you return rental gear.

  • Yes, all certified scuba divers need to have a dive buddy for all dives. HOWEVER, if you are solo certified, we will allow it in this challenge if you have proof of certification.

What if I lose my road map?

  • This is why we are requiring pictures of you, the map, and the dive site. If you lose the map, simply download or pick up a new one and fill in the blanks. If you delete the picture proof, there is nothing we can do.

Do I need to complete the road map if I’m going after the GRAND PRIZE?

  • Yes, for a diver for to be eligible for the grand prize from the most dives in the period, they MUST complete the road map in the same time.

Can I opt out of the stated prize for monetary prizes?

  • No, the prizes listed are the only items Extreme Sports Inc. is offering for this challenge.

Does it cost money to go to these dive sites?

  • Yes, each dive site requires its own version of an “entry fee”. For example, Beaver Lake requires you to have a Daily Park Pass at a minimum, which is $5 per day, paid by card only.

What if I can’t find the dive site?

  • We can help! Give us a call at 417-659-9009 or stop by our store located at 5203 S. Rangeline Rd. in Joplin, MO 64804
