Today just so happens to be the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off for the Newton County Christmas for Kids, but do you know what else today is? Nope, not the day after Halloween although technically it is… I actually have something in mind, if you couldn’t tell. This just so happens to be one of the Extreme Sports Scuba IT Diver’s Birthday. Which one you may ask? Well, none other than Mark Willoughby. And since it is his birthday and we’re due to learning about him anyway, why not learn about him on his birthday? By the way, Happy Birthday to my Sweet Husband! I love you very much! Sorry, I had to throw it in there, you know I did!
How did you get started diving?
I always wanted to try it and an opportunity came along and I took it. My wife put it on a list of things she wanted to try/get done and I said: “heck yeah, I’ve always wanted to try it.”
How long have you been diving?
A little over a year, but not long enough.
How many dives do you make in a typical year?
I made approximately 40 last year and that’s the only year I have to measure.
What drew you into being an IT Tech?
I was always good with computers.
What other hobbies do you do besides diving?
Riding/showing cutting horses, working on computers, loving my wife.
Where is your favorite place to dive?
So far Mermet Springs but it’s the only place besides Beaver Lake I’ve been… Bring on Cozumel!
What is your most comical dive experience?
Playing the victim for someone who didn’t realize I was carrying a giant rock between my legs and subsequently having to drag my rescuer to the shore.
