Welcome to 2020. We are 8 days into the New Year and it’s already been an interesting one. But today, let’s focus on the annual New Year’s Day dive. This dive signifies the new year. It helps ensure we start the new year off correctly.
So this year we started the morning with 11 divers and 19 bystanders (on land). Kind of like 1-1-19 (the date) but it’s the wrong year. I kept hoping someone would quickly come, but by the end, we had 16 divers and 19 on land. The weather wasn’t bad for this time of year. The high came in at 54˚F. The wind was a bit chilly, but that’s pretty decent. If you remember back to 2018 we had windchills right around 0˚F. We called that year off and brought it in at the shop with food.
For the most part, we’ll let the photos do the talking. But yes, every once in a while there will be words. Enjoy!
This year we had Potato and Bacon Soup, White Chicken Chili, and Grilled Cheese sandwiches.
The wind whistled through, so we made a windbreak.
