One thing I thoroughly enjoy on vacations is eating the local cuisine. That means trying to find local restaurants where the “locals” eat just to see what they enjoy. Every once in a while though, it’s fun to eat at a chain restaurant. One restaurant that is a load of fun to eat at is a place called Señor Frogs. Mark and I ate at our first one in Honolulu, Hawaii, our second one in Las Vegas, Nevada, and now we’ve tried the one in Cozumel, Mexico. If you are looking for a load of fun, definitely check this place out.
Señor Frogs
Señor Frogs is definitely some place you want to go if you want to have fun. Seriously out of all the ones we’ve tried, they are all very similar. Very much a party place. Heck, their quote is “Have fun, let yourself go, and unleash your fiesta!” What does that tell you?
Now a lot of restaurants have little munchies they bring to the table. This particular restaurant you get popcorn… in a dog food bowl apparently. Hey, who can say they’ve eaten popcorn out of a dog food bowl? *raises hand* And this popcorn was really good!
This is your coaster for your drink. I think I laughed a little harder than I was supposed to at this.
I promise this was just coke. But it was served in a Margarita glass. So you choose the size you want. This was a medium. If you get the “Yard” you can also have a free refill.
While you’re waiting, there are signs everywhere, every direction. You might even wind up standing on your head to read some. Oh no, that’s me? Sorry….
And if you’re lucky, they’ll bring a sign around and place on the back of your chair….
Then at some point they started singing. They went table to table singing to everyone. They even sang a song to my mother-in-law. I have no idea what they were singing though because it was in Spanish… But they brought another guy from another table to join in. It was great fun.
The food you ask… This was the “Popeye” Chicken. A chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cheese smothered in gravy with mushrooms, served with a side of mashed potatoes. This was excellent by the way. This is what I ordered.
This was a shrimp chimichanga.
And you see what he’s eating… look at his bib. Yes, he was served his with a bib and they put the bib on him. I guess they thought he would be messy?
I mentioned above, they are a chain store so they have a souvenir store. It was fun looking through the store.
Now this sign was outside the restaurant. Is that there in case you are drunk enough you want to walk to one of these places? Don’t worry, I stuck with coke as in Coca Cola. Just making sure we’re clear here!
Now… we had “great” luck with parking. The guy who seated us at the restaurant said that you could park anywhere in Cozumel on Sunday’s. Take that for what it’s worth. I might just walk if I were you. It’s just a block or so from Mega (the store).
